The family wall calendar
One calendar, one wall,
everybody’s chores and one‑offs.
Auralar turns an old tablet on the kitchen wall into the family calendar everybody looks at and the chore chart nobody has to nag about. Free forever, no card needed.
We're still putting the finishing touches on Auralar, so new households can't be created just yet. If you already have an account, sign in as usual.
A family calendar and chore chart for the kitchen wall.
Auralar is a shared family calendar and chore chart that runs in the web browser. Put it on a spare tablet on the kitchen wall and the whole house sees the day’s appointments, chores and one-offs in one place. Anybody can add or change things from their own phone, and chores earn points towards one monthly reward the family works for together. The calendar, chores and the family month are free; Premium adds a few extras.
The day, on the wall
Appointments, chores, one-offs and anything still outstanding, set like a printed page rather than a list. Ticking something off is one tap, and what is done folds away so the rest of the day has the room.
Chores that repeat themselves
Every day, every Tuesday, the first of the month. Give a chore to one person, share it, or let people take turns. Set it once and it keeps turning up, worth points by how hard it is.
A PIN, not an account, per person
Children get a name and a colour, not an email address. Ticking off never asks for anything; changing the calendar asks for a PIN if one is set.
The week, at the kitchen table.
Seven columns on a tablet, one day at a time on a phone, and the same calendar underneath both. Add an appointment, hand a chore to somebody, move next week’s dentist — and the wall has it before you have put the phone down.
- Events, chores and one-offs, kept apart so the day reads properly
- Rooms of your own: kitchen, bathroom, the shed
- Anything not done rolls over and says how late it is
A reason to do the washing up.
Every chore is worth points: easy, normal or hard. The house picks one reward for the month, a takeaway or a film night, and every chore anybody ticks off fills the same bar towards it. Nobody is racing anybody. Reach the goal together and the wall celebrates.
- One reward for the whole house, chosen by you
- You set the goal: how much of the month’s chores it takes
- The month freezes on its last night and goes into the record
Something to find, on the way.
Alongside the month, everybody can earn achievements: the first thing ticked off, seven days running, work done in five different rooms. A few stay hidden until somebody stumbles on one, and then they join the list for everyone to see. Milestones, not a ranking: there is no leaderboard.
The same calendar, in a pocket.
A shared family calendar on everybody’s phone. There is no app to download: it runs in the browser and installs to the home screen, where it opens like an app and keeps itself up to date. Apps for Android and for iPhone and iPad are on the way.
- Add to Home Screen on iPhone, iPad and Android
- Light or dark, set per screen
What Premium adds.
Everything above stays free. Premium is a few extras on top, for the whole house, at one price.
Guest Wi-Fi, on the wall
Visitors point their phone at the wall and they are on the network. Nobody reads a password off the back of the router.
More than one household
A holiday flat, a grandparent’s house: each with its own people, chores and month, one tap apart on the same account.

What families ask before they put it on the wall.
Does it work on an old tablet?
Very likely. Auralar runs in the web browser, so there is nothing to download and no store to go through. Any tablet whose browser still gets updates will do — an iPad that takes iPadOS 14 or later, an Android or Fire tablet with a current browser, a spare laptop or a monitor with something behind it. The quickest test costs nothing: open the calendar on it and sign up for free.
Is there an app to download?
No app to download: Auralar runs in the browser and installs to the home screen. On an iPhone or iPad that is Share, then Add to Home Screen; on Android it is the browser menu, then Install. It opens full screen with its own icon, like an app, and updates itself. Apps for Android and for iPhone and iPad are on the way, for anybody who would rather install from a store, but you will not need them to use Auralar.
Do the kids need an email address or a phone?
No. One grown-up creates the household with an email address and a password. Everybody else is just a first name and a colour, with an optional PIN. Ticking off a chore or a one-off on the wall never asks for anything; changing the calendar asks for a PIN if one is set.
Do the kids compete for points?
No. Every chore is easy, normal or hard, worth half, one or one and a half times what you say a normal chore is worth (5, 10 or 15 points when a normal one is 10). One-offs carry no points. Everybody’s points go into one score for the whole house, and reaching the month’s goal earns the one reward you chose together: there is no ranking and no winner. Achievements are separate, badges anybody can earn, a few of them hidden until somebody finds one.
What does Premium add, and what does it cost?
Everything that runs the house is free forever: the wall calendar, the week planner, chores and one-offs with repeats, everybody’s PINs, points and the family month with its reward, achievements and as many screens as you like. That part never costs anything and never gets a price. Premium is the paid add-on: a guest wi‑fi code visitors can scan off the wall; more than one household on one account, and whatever comes next. One subscription covers the whole house and every screen. Premium starts at €4.49 a month, or €44.99 a year, and its price steps down the longer you stay subscribed, to €2.99 a month in the end. Those are EUR figures: the checkout shows your own currency, with your country’s tax, before you pay.
Can I try it for free?
Yes. The calendar, chores, one-offs and the family month are free forever. That is not a trial: no card, no expiry. Premium, the paid add-on, starts with a free month the first time you subscribe, and if you cancel during it nothing is charged.
Does it work when the wifi drops?
The wall keeps showing the day it last had and says plainly that it is offline. Ticking things off and making changes need the connection, so nothing is saved against the wrong day; it catches up as soon as the wifi is back.
Is my family’s data private? Do you sell it?
Private, and never sold. There is no advertising and no analytics or tracking in the Auralar app, and your calendar is never part of any statistics. This website counts visits with Google Analytics, but only if you say yes to it. Your calendar is stored on a server in Germany, inside the EU, and support cannot read it. Payments go through Paddle, so we never see a card number. The privacy policy lists everything that is kept, and for how long.
How do I cancel?
In the app: Settings › Auralar Premium › Cancel. There is nobody to ring and nothing to fill in. Premium stays on until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the house carries on with the free plan. If you would like your household’s data deleted as well, write to support@auralar.co and we will do it.
Something else? The help pages cover setting up a wall, PINs and points, or write to a person.
